Gravity Water focuses on safe drinking water access through combining rainwater harvesting, elevated storage, and gravity-fed filtration. Its approach is to provide safe drinking water without dependency on electricity, pumps, or imported materials or skill sets, allowing communities to implement, manage, and maintain their clean water systems independently throughout the future.
Gravity Water currently focuses its efforts in the Asia-Pacific Region, with established operations in Nepal and Vietnam. Over the next six months, Gravity Water is expanding pilots to Taiwan, Malaysia, and Indonesia through corporate support. Gravity Water collects multilingual data on the performance and water usage of their systems, crucial for understanding their effectiveness and efficiency in diverse communities. Also, management does not have knowledge of all these languages and need real-time reporting in English.
Utilizing the multi-language feature of Sopact Survey, the Sopact team assisted Gravity Water in rolling out a unified survey translated into multiple languages. This approach allowed respondents to engage in their language of choice, facilitating wider participation and more accurate data collection across different linguistic groups. The insights gathered from this data were instrumental in learning and fixing all the system related issues to increase product adoption. It also brought operational efficiency since no paper data collection, translation, calling for meter numbers etc. since they were collected directly from the schools/community through photos embedded directly on the survey. The survey demonstrates the cost saving because of Gravity Water's system instantly shares to the schools/community, a very crucial step for ensuring transparency and building trust for ongoing use of the system.
Within two months, 1. Gravity Water started collecting monthly data from multiple schools from Vietnam and Nepal in their own language. 2. Gravity Water saved time in calling, collecting, translating, and taking action on insight due to automation of all these steps.3. Same language data collection increased community interaction and accuracy of data.4. Having calculated savings at the time of data collection bolstered community trust through clear demonstration of the water systems' cost advantages. 5. Comprehensive, language-inclusive data allowed Gravity Water to display cultural respect, fortifying community relationships and aiding advocacy and fundraising activities.
